For over a decade, Gym On Wheels has been providing a high quality movement program for our toddlers and preschoolers. The Gym On Wheels program allows children to have a fun gross motor experience while interacting with instructors with patience, energy and a genuine love for children. As a director of a child care center, I am often challenged by parents looking for fun and stimulating programs for their children. There are lots of gymnastic programs out there to choose from, but none compare to Gym On Wheels. Children are encouraged to participate in whole group exercises as well as individual experiences. They learn cooperation, problem solving, coordination and the ability to follow directions.

-Nicole Cipolino, Director, Bright Horizons, White Plains, New York

Gym On Wheels began at Scarborough Presbyterian Children’s Center six years ago. As a teacher and the Director, I have worked closely with Tom and now, Amie, and have found them to be very nurturing, humorous and compassionate with the children. They listen to them, giving them their undivided attention, thus supporting their development and self esteem. They plan a fun and energetic experience for the children and the children love it - and they love their instructors!

-Katya Montelbano, Director, Scarborough Presbyterian Children’s Center, Scarborough, New York

Gym On Wheels has been a real asset to our summer camp, enabling us to offer campers fun and engaging gross motor activities with professional instruction. John and Mary are wonderful to work with, our campers and counselors look forward to seeing them each week, and we are excited to have them back year after year. I even had a SEIT pull me aside to say how impressed she has been with the way John broke down all the skills for T-ball, building them each week and culminating in an actual game. She said it was just beautiful how he orchestrated it and it all fell together so naturally.

-Lisa Feinman, LMSW, Assistant Executive Director, JCC on the Hudson, Tarrytown, New York

Everything went great this summer and we are already thinking ahead for next summer. Please send me a list of all the programs you offer for camp as we are thinking about expanding our use of Gym On Wheels for next summer.

-Melissa Deierlein, Director, JCC on the Hudson, Tarrytown, New York

Gym On Wheels has been a big success at our center. Their success is based on quality programming that is age appropriate and flexible to meet individual children’s abilities and skill levels. Each of their instructors are practiced at putting children at ease while encouraging them to try new skills. Because they come to our location, our teachers are there to help them feel comfortable and support them as they learn new skills. I cannot say enough positive accolades for the Gym On Wheels’ staff and program. They are masters of their trade!

-Sara Champion, Director, Children’s Day School, Riverside and Glenville, Connecticut

All the teachers continue to appreciate Mary’s knowledge, positive energy, and creative activities!

I have known Tom Zino through his Gym On Wheels program for several years. Tom puts his heart and soul into his work with the children at our center. The children love Gym On Wheels classes, and Patrice, our instructor, keeps them moving, learning and listening. She builds their esteem and of course works on their large motor development as well. I highly recommend Gym On Wheels!

-Jo-Annette Nielsen, Teacher, Children’s Day School Riverside

What a fabulous program! Our instructor, Amie’s infectious personality engages the children from the start with fun games that make them comfortable in using their bodies for beginning gymnastic skills. Within a few short sessions, the children are more confident using their bodies physically than ever before.

-Nancy Isaacs, Director, JCC of Harrison Early Childhood Center

We have had Gym On Wheels coming to Bright Horizons in Rye Brook, NY, for many years now. Tom and his staff do a fabulous job. Our instructor is very accommodating. She knows that we do not have a common space and always helps us set up and put together room we use for the gymnastic classes. The children love the classes and each year, we have seen more and more families enroll. Tom is very courteous and helpful. He always makes sure that sign up sheets are handed out on time and answers any and all questions. Mary is very patient with the children whether they are having trouble learning a new skill or are excited to show off what they have mastered. It continues to be a great pleasure working with Gym On Wheels.

Parents

Thanks for Gym On Wheels at Bright Horizons! My kids have been participating in this enrichment program for years and just love it. There is something very special about what the instructors do and the way they do it – my kids talk about Gym On Wheels all the time at home. Their low-key, high energy and kid-friendly sense of humor is a delight for them and for us as parents too!

-Robin Cautin, Ph.D., Benny and Maddie’s mom

My kids love Gym On Wheels classes because they’re fun filled and action packed and taught by genuine, caring, involved instructors. I enroll my kids session after session because I love that they are learning physical, s social and cognitive skills in an engaged atmosphere that fosters their confidence as well as their growth and development. In my opinion, Gym On Wheels is a perfect complement to the Bright Horizons at Eastridge curriculum. Thank you Gym On Wheels!

-Jen Novak, parent of Mia and Sascha

Gym On Wheels has been a terrific addition to each of my children’s daycare experience. The program has a lot to offer toddlers and preschoolers. Gym On Wheels builds confidence and helps develop coordination and love of movement. My kids cannot wait to show me the moves they’ve learned when we get home at the end of the day! I highly recommend this program.

-Diane Oucherioney, parent

We wanted to thank you for the great program “Gym On Wheels” offers. Our daughter, Delaney, loves the program and looks forward to it each week. We have tried other programs and have not found them to be the best fit for our child. As working parents, it is often difficult to find safe and structured programs that our child really enjoys. Gym On Wheels is a wonderful program offering fun and fitness for Delaney. Miss Diana is great with the kids. We look forward to hearing about the activities after each class, it’s always the first thing Delaney talks about when we pick her up from daycare on “gym” day. Thanks again for offering this fantastic program.

My son (2.5 years old) LOVES Gym On Wheels! He loves to walk on the curb and pretend it’s a Balance Beam like with Amie! His favorite is saying “TA DAH!” after he successfully completes an athletic move. And every Monday, he looks forward to earning his stamp for being a good listener and gymnast. Gym On Wheels offers much more than just a chance for my son to do a somersault… and the best part is that he doesn’t even know the importance of the skills he is learning… to him, it’s just a great time! Thank you Gym On Wheels.

-Margie Ostrove, Senior Vice President, BB&T Capital Markets – and mom!

I am writing to thank Gym On Wheels for a wonderful experience for my daughter. As a working parent, the ability to have my daughter participate in a gym/gymnastics program during the week at school served as a valuable enrichment for her. In addition, it was a time saver and allowed us to free up family time on the evenings and weekends. She was was new to her pre-k class at Kehillah School in the fall, and the ability to have something extra special for her to do each week and look forward to made her transition a smooth one. The enthusiasm and caring staff for the program held her interest throughout the entire school year. Gym On Wheels day was always a day that she reflected on as a great day! At each renewal period, my daughter always asked me to sign her up again! It is important for kids to work on their motor skills, listening skills and sportsmanship. In addition, the ability to work in fitness into our daily routines is key to a healthy lifestyle. The program teaches the kids a love for fitness and movement so that good habits are formed at an early age. Further, this program provides it all in a convenient location (the child’s own school!). You foster a happy program and environment! Thank you for your efforts and philosophies and developing a great program for working parents!

-Andrea Theresa LaScarla, Esq., David B. Petshaft, P.C.

My daughter has been doing Gym ON Wheels gymnastic classes for 9 months and loves it! She wakes up every day and asks if today is Gym On Wheels. When I tell her yes, she lights up and says “yeah!.” She absolutely loves it and it is the highlight of her week. She comes home and tells me all about it. Thank you so much for the wonderful program. We hope to continue this for years!

Gym On Wheels is an exciting on-site gymnastics program for the Toddler and Pre-K population. Tom Zino takes incredible pride in this offering and engages the children to such a point that they wait for him in anticipation each week. He knows each child by name and fosters a relationship with each and every one of them. Not only do the children have fun, but there is an integration of physical skills acquisition into each session. The children come away with a heightened sense of self-awareness and self-esteem at being able to master these skills. Gym On Wheels is unequaled due to Tom Zino’s professionalism and dedication to each child. If you are considering a gymnastics program, give your child the gift of Gym On Wheels. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I have a very healthy, active 4-year-old son who loves to run and play like most boys his age. A friend of mine, who also has 3 your boys, had recommended an exercise program for toddlers and preschoolers that emphasizes balance and physical exercise. I was going to look into this program to supplement my son’s weekday activities as well as help him “burn off” some energy. Fortunately, I didn’t have to look for a comparable program because Gym On Wheels was offered at my son’s daycare center. This program has greatly increased my son’s sense of balance, as well as developed skills such as hopping, skipping and jumping. He also looks forward to attending class, which is the best indicator that the program resonates with children. I am not worried about advancing a future gymnast, but at the same time, I do believe in the importance of physical exercise and am glad to know that at least once a week, he is enrolled in a program that will enhance his motor skills and overall coordination. We sincerely love the Gym On Wheels program.

Just wanted to let you know that Cypress will be signing up for another session of Gym On Wheels. She really likes the class and doesn’t let me wash off the stamp on her hand each week.

This isn’t just playtime

"Gym On Wheels classes are structured. We teach children the skills used for such equipment as the pummel horse, high bars, balance beam, parallel bars, springboard and more. Magically, monkey jumps become cartwheels, and donkey kicks become handstands. Everything we do and everything we use including our games and props, help develop and enhance eye, hand, foot and gross motor coordination, all the necessary skills needed to participate in sports of all kinds."

Gymnastics and Physical Development

"Between the ages of two and five, Gymnastics helps children develop their fundamental movement skills. Gym On Wheels classes teach children the physical motor skills that enhance coordination, balance, speed, agility, rhythm and power. Our classes also provide physical endurance, strength and flexibility. This helps build bone density and helps develop muscle growth."

The social benefits of gymnastics

"Attending a regular gymnastics and physical skills program helps teach children to follow direction, listen, take turns, respect others and work with others as a team. Our classes require concentration and commitment, they help children become more confident, and they show children that the journey is as important as the destination."

The physical benefits of gymnastics

"Children’s activities today involve less and less physical movement. This only adds to the alarming rate of obesity amongst young children. Gymnastic classes encourage an active lifestyle, and helps establish a positive attitude towards physical fitness."

Gymnastics and intellectual development

"Studies show that children who are involved in an early childhood movement program like gymnastics develop better cognitive skills and have longer attention spans, increased communication skills, better general problem solving skills, and improved self-esteem."

What’s included in Gym On Wheels classes

"Motor development activities, rhythm activities, creative movement, music, basic gymnastic skills, stretching exercises, aerobics and group games."

Gymnastics for toddlers

"Some of the benefits for toddlers participating in Gym on Wheels classes include learning how to listen and follow directions, interacting with other children in a team atmosphere, developing patience while waiting for their turn, and learning how to reference colors. Their strength will improve from gripping, swinging, and hanging onto bars; their visual tracking will improve from using scarves and balls, which also help with eye-hand-foot coordination; and, they’ll build muscle memory while learning the basics of gymnastics."

Gym On Wheels classes and safety

"Gym On Wheels instructors are trained in the required spotting techniques for all skills included in our curriculum. Our instructors are USA Gymnastics Safety and CPR/First Aid certified. Only equipment that is age and skill level appropriate is used which creates an atmosphere which is more developmentally user friendly. Our equipment is smaller and lower to the ground creating a much less intimidating and safer environment. "
